BR3:＊The Little Giraffe＊

I read ' The Little Giraffe'. The main characters are a little giraffe and rhinoceros, Rhino. A little giraffe is the first giraffe in the world. The difference between now and long time ago is the length of giraffe's neck. Giraffe in this story is really shorter than now. Giraffe and Rhino are really good friends and live in East Africa. It is really hard to get their food for them. So they asked the wise man to get some advises. He said 'Please come here again tomorrow and I will give some advises to you.' Then, a little giraffe went there again but only him. The wise man prepared a magic drink for them. But Rhino did not come there, so a little giraffe drink it all. To him great surprise, his neck became soooo long!!! So, he can eat upper leaves that he could not reach before. Finally, Rhino could not drink a magic drink, so he is still angry now.

I heard that the giraffes's neck were short. But I did not know this story. This story is really cute and interesting. (185 words)

Good party^^*

I had a farewell party for my friend. She is a member of my club. And also, we are both went to same high school Kumamoto Daiichi high school. We have been friends for about 5 years. The reason of holding this party was she is planning to go abroad to study for about a year. She has to register absence from school for a year from next semester. So we hold this party to encourage her. We reserved the Italian restaurant and clerks gave us a whole cake for surprise. We were really surprised at it, but in fact, a friend of us asked them to prepare the cake! She is really smart person!! We had a super time with my club member. (124 words)

My pretty friend

I will introduce my pretty friend. Her name is Hana. She is only 1 year old and 2 months. Everyone call her 'Hana-chan.' My English conversation school's teachers are her parents, Barry and Misa. Hana's father is from London and mother is Japanese, so she is a child of mixed parentage of British and Japanese. She has really cute face and voice.

She is only child for Barry and Misa, so she is really good at playing her self. And then, she can walk just two or three paces now. When we say ' How old are you, Hana-chan?' in Japanese, she understood the meaning and rise her forefinger. It is soooooooo cute!! Then, we said ' Hana-chan is genious!!' the christmas lights

I went to Saisyunkan to see the Christmas lights with my club members. This activity was last one in this year. Four people of my club drive their car and another people rode on their car. The way of going there was really smooth, but in front of the entrance was really crowded and we had to wait to enter for about 30 minutes. While we waited, we enjoyed even bored time for example, talking, singing and so on! The Christmas lights were really beautiful and amazing!!! I saw them last year, but I think this year's is more beautiful than last one. There were dolphins, a cute house, stars, a big pink tunnel and so on! We were really exited and enjoyed them very much. After took off cars, we took the pictures with the Christmas lights. I had a super time with my club member. I am looking forward to enjoy the next activity last year!! (158 words)

We can learn a lot of languages in our life. The main reason of studying languages for me is to live a full life. In addition, I am planning to go abroad and study some languages until I am a college student as an exchange student. That experience will be good experience for me. Next, I will write about my past history of language.

I started to learn English at the cram school when I was 12 years old. I began to study English from the beginning, for example, greetings and alphabet and so on. After I entered junior high school, I study English standard. My junior high school English teacher was great person. His teaching English was always easy to understand. I think that is the very reason which I love English even now.

In addition, I started to study Spanish when I entered KGU. We have to choose second language apart from English. I was really irresolute about my choice of the second language. Finally, I decided to learn Spanish because people who speak Spanish is the second most in the world. When I heard it, I was really surprised. So I think Spanish is the most useful language when I travel the foreign countries.

But learning Spanish has some troubles. For example, Spanish words have gender. That point is different between Spanish and English. So I was at a loss which learning that type language is first time for me. I think learning new language became good stimulus for me. However, I have been studying Spanish for 2 years, so I can understand the Spanish grammar a little now. My aim of study Spanish is to study more natural Spanish and travel to Spain.


Then, I am studying two languages now. In most of the classes, my teachers give us some homework every class. Of course I do it every time, but I do not study English and Spanish in the other time. So I need to study languages to improve my language skill out of the class. Through studying languages out of the class, I think my skill is improver than now. Takumasai

We had Takumasai it is a school festival of our college. It is my first time to take part in that festival because I was not a member of any clubs last time. Before the day, we prepared a lot of things for the festival.

For example, we planed to open the shop which make and sell the Hashimaki. It is included in me chopped cabbage and it covered with a dough like a crepe. We practiced to make it over and over again. Then we could sell 500 dishes for 3 days.

Other thing we prepared is making the message board to give our older club member. Most of the club members in this university, 3rd grade club member have to retire their club after the school festival has finished. After we have passed 3 days, we had a party for older club member’s graduation. We cried very much like they died. But we can see them any time we want to meet them till now. I do not want to break off the relationship with them forever!!!

I read ‘How Elephants lost their wings.’ The main characters in the story are elephants with wings, two gods.

The elephants which live long time ago, they had big and beautiful wings to fly. They could fly everywhere they want to go. But they are really noisy, so it is not comfortable for two gods, other animals and plants. The elephants yelled, fell down the houses and so on. The two gods thought a plan which they took away the elephants’ wings after elephants slept. The two gods succeeded their plan. After elephants woke up, they were really angry and acted violently because they had no wings. But they never get their wings again, so finally they were calm down.

In my opinion, the elephants make a good impression, for example gentle. So the elephants in this story are a little bit violently, I could not imagine different type of the elephants. (152 words)

I read ‘The Magic Cooking Pot.’ The main character of the story is a little girl lives here. She and her mother do not have enough money to live together. So they are always hungry. One day, the little girl goes out to the forest and cries because she had reached the limit of her hungry. Then an old woman spoke to the little girl in the forest. Suddenly, the old woman gives the magic cooking pot which can cook nice hot porridge by itself. After that, a little girl brings back to her house and eat nice hot porridge with her mother. So they were able to eat nice hot porridge whenever they want to eat it. Several days later, the little girl goes out her house. When she was not her house, her mother wanted to eat the porridge. First, she can say the right words to make cook the porridge but she can not say the right wards to make stop cooking. The pot made the porridge more and more!! After a short time, the little girl rushed to her house, then said the right words to make stop making after all.

First, I thought the magic cooking pot is really good tool for them, because they have no money to live. But after I read a part of the accident of the pot, the best way to live is do not rely on the magic. (239 words)

tasty soft ice cream

I went to Soyo-cho to camp with my boyfriend. It located in near Aso. We went there at 15 pm by his car, before we arrived there, we had a swim in Amakusa. So our plan was really hard! That day, the way to Soyo from Amakusa was really crowded because we went there on weekend.

After we arrived, my boyfriend started to put a tent together to stay. It took about 30 minutes, I could not to help him anymore… because of I am a bungler.

Then he made a fire with charcoal to enjoy BBQ for our dinner. We had a lot of beef, chicken, shrimp, vegetables and so on^^ I had really good dinner there!!

Then I had a soft ice cream with some blue berry and its source. It was sooooo delicious!!! Blue berry is famous for there very much. If you have never had it, you have to eat it once!! I respect it for everyone. (161 words)

I went to the restaurant to have lunch with my boyfriend. He drove to near Aso then we arrived there. In the restaurant, if we pay 1500 yen, we can eat many kinds of dishes once which whatever we like. I like that style when I eat lunch or dinner. I ate green salad, chicken fried, Taipi-en; it is one of the traditional Chinese style noodle of Kumamoto and so on! However, my boy friend already had eaten breakfast before 2 hours. I went to the Aso farm village to enjoy a lot of spa and delicious food. I went there with Yurimi, Tomoko, Mai. I read ‘SCARY MOVIE.’ The story of it was the two girls were entrusted nursing Mr. & Mrs. Smith’s baby. And they gave the scary DVD to the two girls as a salary. Then Mr. Smith tapped the top of a glass cage on his way out and talked to something. But the two girls did not understand. When they started to watch the DVD some black, hairy thing was moving top of the couch. They were really surprised at it and the thing was a huge spider! Finally, Mr. & Mrs. Smith came back to home so the two girls were relieved very much.

I also do not like the scary DVD and am not good at the bugs any more. Especially, I hate the spiders!! If I experience the incidence like the two girls experienced, I will die!! (140 words)

my friends held a birthday party for kana and me. my birthday was july 10th and kana's one was 12th. we went to yakiniku restaurant and had a lot of nice meat and a special time there!! in addition, other friends gave us a birthday cake for us. we did not know that so we were very surprised at that!!

I read 'TIME TRAVEL: THE DINOSAURS.' The story of it is about time traveling to the back in time. Older sister Georgia and younger brother Charlie went to the back in time by the odd tree. And they saw many dinosaurs there. Charlie was really scared the dinosaurs but Georgia did not scare them because she thought the dinosaurs want get along with them and want to be friends. But he would not to her advice any more. He ran and away then he backed to the odd tree. Finally, she was left along there. Even she thought the dinosaurs want to become friends, she want to go back home very much. After younger brother went back, she also went back using the odd tree. They met the house then, she said 'Time travel is cool. I'm going to do it all the time.'

When she goes somewhere, he always goes, too. I thought they are great sister and brother. In addition, he really like her and also respect her!! (170 words)

1-03b Many kinds of relationships and traditional culture

In this movie, many important things in the real life for us! The main theme of the Lolo and Stitch was the bond between others. There were many kinds of relationships. I found some of them, for example, friendship between Lilo and Stitch, friendship between Lilo’s sister and her boyfriend, relationship between Lilo and her sister, relationship between stitch and a scientist and relationship among sisters and their parents.

Most impressive relationship in the movie was ‘relationship among sisters and their parents.’ One day the Hawaiian restaurant hire older sister because of the accident, so she had no job. The promise with a child protect man to live Lilo and older sister together was ‘To get her new job’, but she could not. On he eve of before he took in Lilo, Lilo and older sister talk about future and family. They said ‘Wherever we are, remember that we are together in our heart.’ Their parents always say so before they died. It was like a motto for family. When I heard that phrase, I thought the relationship among my parents and me. I am planning to get my job in other prefecture.

When I taught my parents about my think, they look really worries about my life in other prefecture but I want to tell them Lilo’s family’s motto, "Wherever we are, remember that we are together in our hearts." So I want also remember their great motto. If we forget the importance of our family, it is really vexing.

In addition, I could see many traditional cultures in the movie. For example, fula, local languages and traditional foods and so on. In the movie Lilo taught stitch the fula to get along with other people. When he practices the fula on the beach, many people came together to him to watch his dance. He was a good dancer and his dance was really pretty!

We have a traditional dance in Kumamoto. It is otemoyan dance. The original Otemoyan was a traditional folk song. The story about a girl Otemo, then it became the traditional dance with the song. In Kumamoto, the Otemoyan dance is included in the Hinokuni festival in Kumamoto City. If we go to downtown during obon, we can see it. I go and see it every year, because when I see it, I can feel summer and excitement from the dance. (396 words)

I read ‘The Barbecue.’ The story of it is about a accident of family’s party. The main character is Dounut and his family member; his mother, sister and his step father. One day, they held the party for Ms. Pringle for her birthday. Many people were invited the party and enjoyed it very much. She is really good at playing the piano, so she played the piano with Mr. Pringle’s singing. But his singing is very bad!! When he were singing, he was in the seventh heaven. Then he began to climb the wood and were singing at the topmost branches. Ms. Pringles persuaded him to come down, but nobody can stop his excite. When he came to, he became scary suddenly. Then an audience called the brigade. Finally, Mr. Pringle were helped by them safety.

The firefighter was Sam’s father who rescued Mr. Pringle. She thought ‘Why my parents could not be like the Pringles.’ I hope that her parents will be able to become like the Prigles.(169 words)

1-02b University life essay

We have many kinds of Universities in Japan, for example, medical, literature, economics, dietetics, engineering and so on. Some Japanese university students are belonging to clubs like cultural, sports club. Most of the university students in Japan are working as a part-time worker. Then, they get some money to use for clubs, having foods, hanging on their friends and so on.

I go to Kumamoto Gakuen University and majoring English. I am majoring English to become a Japanese teacher in a foreign country. So, I have to gain my English skill and I need to take the more initiative than now. I usually talk to exchange student from America, Canada, New Zealand and so on to learn more natural English. When I have no plan, I usually go to the room of my club. I talk to my friends or 3rd grade students about class, hobbies and the like. Of course, I have a part-time job to get some money to live. I can experience the normal life as a member of society. That experiences are good for me for my future. To dreams come true, I am taking the class to pass the Japanese teacher exam. So I think it is very chance to increase my English and Japanese skill to become a Japanese teacher.

My friend also goes to, and majoring English. She is belonging to a club and working as a part-time worker. But, especially, she takes a lesson in the university of to become a fright attendant. As I mentioned before, she has works at the supermarket 4 times a week but we have a lot of homework, so we do not have enough time to do other things. However she also takes a lesson to succeed in her future. I really respect her that why she can focus on what she wants to do.

Some people in university do not have the clear dreams but the other hands, some people have the clear dreams and begin to dreams come true. For example, they study out side school which they need experience to dreams come true, to get many licenses and so on.As I mentioned till now, Japanese university students spend their each time to do things what they have to do. For example, study out side the school, club activities, part-time job like that. In addition, they are enjoying their school life, even if it is busy. (403 words)

*Beyond Strange Street*

I read ‘Beyond Strange Street.’ The story of it is about a girl go to a wild adventure. She rode a lift of her house, and then she arrived ‘WILD WOODS.’ There were many kinds of strange things; big frog, speaking and screaming woods and an ugly little creature! They were really strange and scary for her but she wants to go back home, she had no choice to go back her home early. The strange creature wanted help to find his glasses but she had already found them because they ware top of his head. Then, she asked it and he thanked about it. Finally, he expressed his thanks to her to appear the lift to go back to her home.

I thought the strange creature was a little bit sarcastic man because he called her ‘silly girl’ and the like. But real his personality is really honest and has a feeling heart! He is a little shy, so he says abuse to someone. In our real life, there are sarcastic person like him, so we have to understand his real personality and we have to attend to them honestly and softly. (193 words)

*Jojo Makes the TEAM*

I read ‘Jojo Makes the TEAM.’ The story of it was girl Jojo wants play soccer with other boys but some of them are really mean people. So she could not practice soccer to take part in the tournament. But another nice students practice soccer with her! Then she has become quite proficient in soccer thanks to them. On the game day, she scored one point. Finally, her soccer team beat an opponent. She became the goddess of the victory!!

When I read this book, I could reconfirm the importance of relationship among other people around me. In addition, I am always supported by parents, brothers, friends, teachers… Thanks to supporting me!! (112 words)

My summer vacation plans

I have a lot of special plans in this summer vacation. First, I am going to go to the beach from August 1st to 2nd with my club members. I do not know the beach name but I have not been to the beach for a long time, so I am looking forward to going there very much! Second, my friend Yurimi will come to my house and stay August 7th. I am planning to ready for I go to the beach with my boy friend. She is really good at arrange the hair style of long hair. So she said to me, 'I want to set your hair cute^^' Then, I decided to depend on her. I am looking forward to staying and talking with her very much! And I will go to Aso with my friends to stay there. There are many hot springs in the Aso farm village which we will go. naginata club member

I met members when I was a member of naginata club. The purpose of meeting was to buy some presents to our younger club members for retire the club. We had a long talk about what we give them, as a result, we decided to buy and give some bath tools each member. We bought them franc franc in the News. After that, we went our graduated high school to give presents. But unfortunately, they were not there... So we decided to visit there 2 weeks later to meet them. Then, we had lunch at the restaurant. We ate 500 yen lunch, it included in a pasta plate, salad, desert and drink. We could choose the pasta plate and drink in the each all kinds of pasta and drink. It was really good and cheap! So I recommend you to have that lunch!! After we had lunch, we went shopping because the clearance sale has been holding these days. GREEN LAND

I made this box lunch when I went to the Green Land in Arao with my boyfriend on March. He taught me what he want to eat, then I cooked some side dishes what he likes. First, I woke up at 5:30, and then I started cooking the dishes. After finished making side dishes, he just had picked me up to my house by his car. The way of going there took about 2 hours by car. We entered the amusement park after the opening. My boyfriend is not good at riding the roller coasters but I rode a lot of roller coasters with him. After we rode some coasters, he looked feel bad><. Anyway we had a wonderful time there. Fortunately, when he was eating box lunch which I cooked, he said’ These are really delicious! I had a study and training of the hotel. It was a consistent of club activities. This study and training includes lecture of a hotel owner, a get together party among the 2nd grade club members and the 1st grade club members. After we checked in the hotel, we went to daiei to meet other members. Then, we went to a restaurant in Kagomachi street. We ate and drank a lot!! Of course, I had really good time with my club members. After we had a party, I went back to the hotel and spend time each other. I was talking with my friends all night long. Using computer

usually use my computer when I want to use the internet or make some report for the class. When I use the internet for spend my free time I usually watch some web sites of movie, for example, youtube, nikoniko-douga and so on. They have a lot of funny, interesting and scary... movies in the page. I can spend the time of my free watching them on the internet. On the other hand, when I make some reports, I use the micro soft word to type. I want to type sentences fast, but I can not type fast like blind touch. (103 words)

My favorite movie is Harry potter. do you know Harry potter? the story of it is about a wizard boy. Foreign countries

My first trip to foreign countries is to Korea when I was an elementary school student. I went there with my family. I had a good time there. Then, I have been to Australia when I was a high school student as an exchange student. I spent a lot of good time with local friends, my host family and so on! I watched ‘ Lilo and Stitch’ with my classmate yesterday.

The main characters are a little sensitive girl Lilo and a ferocious monster Stitch. Stitch was made by an expert, but he made him as a weapon. So Stitch was really ferocious to other people.

One day, a woman monster could not put up with his behavior in the court, and then Stitch was evicted by her. After Stitch was sent to prison, he broke the prison. Then he went to the earth by a space ship. When Stitch arrived the earth, he was run over by a lot of trucks. Then a public office took charge of him as a dog although he is a monster!! One day, Lilo and her older sister came to there to buy a dog. Cunning Stitch tried to she attracted to him to defend, because some messengers from Stitch’s planet were coming to the earth to catch Stitch. Lilo attracted to him and buy him. But Stitch is really cunning and ferocious, so Lilo and her sister were always in some troubles. On the other hand, Lilo and her older sister had a problem. Their parents were gone because of their car accident. So Lilo and sister’s live was really hard and public office said to older sister ‘You have to send us for her happiness.’ The dead line of proving their live is ok was near at hand. In addition, destruction of Stitch improved more and more. However, one day, wanted family, because he always looked relationship of Lilo and her sister. Then, he reformed his cunning and ferocious mind.

When I was watching the movie, I reminded my family. In these days, I did not talk to my older brother. He is 7 years older than me. So we did not have a quarrel between us. In addition, as he has family in other prefecture, it is difficult to talk deeply for us. But I am planning to talk to him about childhood, his work, my school days, my future dream and so on! As I could think relationship between my older brother and me, it was good for me!! I recommend this movie very much. (370 words)

I read ’A Dog Named SAM. ’The book has 3 mini stories in the book, ‘Fetch, Sam’, ‘Get Out of the Water, Sam’, ‘Good Night, Sam.’ I want to write a review of the second story of the three stories.

Sam liked water, so he was good at swimming very much. He always thought that I want to jump into the water!! But he was always stopped jumping into the water by all people. One day, Molly and Noah; they are his owners are playing with their friends in the water. When he watched it , he ran to jump into the water by a sudden impulse. They and Sam had a really good time in the water. (118 words)

I read ‘Scat, Cats!’after I lend it from the library. The characters in a story are a boy, a girl and a lot of cats.

The cats are not only nosy, lively, but also really clever. They always play a prank on a boy and girl, in addition, get a mess in their house many times!! Finally, a boy and a girl got angry very much, then, they drove the cats out of their house. But after the cats got away, they feel miss because of cats are not in their house. So they call cats to come back to their house. To their surprise, the cats were waiting them in front of their house!! There was a close bond of friendship between them.

I realized that it doesn’t matter whether they are human or animal. The story touched my heart very much!! (146 words)

I have 3 people in my family, my father, my mother and me. My father makes ikinaridango as his job. Do you know ikinaridango? It is one of the most traditional foods in Kumamoto. He has long black hair and he always tie his long hair. My mother works at a print shop as a designer. The pictures of she draws are really good. I am not good at draw the picture, so I really respect her. She is short like me and has short black hair. I think she looks younger than her real age. We used to go to a hotspring in Ooita. But nowadays, we are so busy each other. I want to go there again! (119 words)

I usually come to school by my bike. However, it is raining today!!! So, I came to school on my foot…. When I walked to my school, I was in trouble. The road was really slippery because of raining. I slipped and fell on the road!! I lost my heart to go to school…. BUT!!! Even I hurt my foot, I came to my school on time. (67 words)
